"BROOKE"

Bred by: Barb Loree & Cathie Hay
Owned and loved by Cathie Hay, co-owned by Barb Loree

Brooke was a lil pistol in the litter, holding her own with her 4 bigger brothers.  She is sweet, biddable and full of high energy keeping Cathie on her toes full time.  She resides with her mom Jenny and Polly.  Brooke is in training for Senior Hunt and the plan is to try to run a few next spring after her first litter.  She is explosive on her retrieves and has an extreme desire to be in water (hard to keep her out).  She is just under 21" at the withers, 60 lbs, compact, well muscled, fairly short coupled with a strong topline and good tailset / carraige.  She has a really strong front, good shoulder layback and decent upper arm with her elbows tucked nicley underneath her.  She has a very pleasing head with dark eyes, decent pigment that only fades slightly in winter, good stop, good depth of muzzle and strong underjaw.  Her bite is scissors but she is missing two molars.  Her rear is slightly over angulated compared to her front and she has long rear pasterns (hocks) which allows her to jump like a jack rabbit.  She effortlessly gets a lot of height and can go to line at hunt tests bouncing at eye level:)  We wouldn't call her structure 100% balanced since the rear is slightly overdone and the rear pastern is long but it is not a hinderance to her power and ability in the field.  You don't forget her when you see her speed and retrieve desire, many have called her a lab with feathers in the field.
Brooke easily earned her Can WC on first attempt in Aug 09 and passed 4 out of 4 Junior Hunt test for her Can JH title in Sept 09.
Clearances:  Hips OFA Good, Elbows OFA Normal, CERF eyes cleared in Nov 10,  Thyroid OFA normal Dec 09.
Brooke will be bred for her first litter in Summer 2011, check out the Future Puppy Plans page for details.
